Dulse

I posted something about gardening elsewhere on Miriam’s site, which came to me in a dream. This made me suddenly remember a dream I had over two years ago, and it seems I need to post it here now, for some reason. Since having this dream, I have added packages of dulse to my emergency prep supplies.

Dream notes from my journal dated 02-5-06:
<<I dreamt last night of being in an area that received a nuclear bomb…I was not at ground zero, but close enough to know what was happening and to try to flee. I took cover (joined by a Muslim man, btw), and I heard the word, “Dulse, dulse!”, and that was what was in my head when I woke up at 4 AM.

Now, dulse is a dried seaweed, and I have it in a shaker on the dining table and use it sporadically as a salt substitute and general seasoning (I also have other seaweeds frozen in the freezer and use sometimes in cooking soups). I have a general awareness of the health benefits of sea veggies, but nothing specific or memorable. So given the intense impression the dream had on me, I did some web searching and here is what I found, and it is most interesting, in that it seems dulse and other sea veges have been used and researched for their abilities to detoxify certain radiations out of the blood and thereby to avoid or minimize radiation sickness.>>

Here is some additional information regarding Dulse. You can type it into search engines and find additional information.

The active ingredients in dulse:

  1. have antiviral properties
  2. bind to radioactive toxins such as Strontium 90 and heavy metals like cadmium
  3. prevent the radioactive Iodine 131 from being taken up by the thyroid gland
  4. relieve inflammation and joint tenderness in rheumatoid arthritis
  5. have anti tumor activity

Studies done at McGill University on Montreal, Canada showed that the alginic acid could reduce the amount of strontium 90 adsorbed through the intestinal wall. The EPA expanded these studies and it was found that not only could these alginates bind and remove radioactive nucleotides but heavy metals as well. In fact they also discovered that these chemically active compounds allowed the strontium 90 and heavy metals to be re-secreted by the bones, bound to the alginates and safely eliminated from the body.

The high iodine content of dulse also ensures that the radioactive isotope of iodine, iodine 131 has no way of being adsorbed by the thyroid gland. Iodine 131 (radioactive iodine) is found in trace but ever present addition to our food and air supply. The iodine in dulse can reduce by 80% the radioactive iodine-131 adsorbed by the thyroid.

UPDATE: Oct 13-2014 Thank you to everyone who gave donations last month while I was traveling in Colombia. I was literally supported by a small handful of people, one in particular, Sam, made it possible for me to have a safe and supported trip near the end of the journey. Returning on Oct 15th to Canada after which reports will be shared on this website as well as on the great gathering site, along with private reports for everyone who donated. With love and gratitude, Miriam DONATE HERE
